Academia has bowed to the fossil fuel industry. Independent think tank, Data for Progress, concluded in the 2023 report, “Accountable Allies” that 27 US Universities accepted over $677 million over a decade. This influence has led to fossil friendly constraints that have crippled scientists with a bad methodology that stagnates progress. This is because the plate tectonic system serves the near surface, leading to oil and gas pockets, but it can’t accurately identify Earth’s interior of functions, which is why since the adoption of plate tectonics in 1962, fossil fuel consumption has risen 2000% while Earthquakes prediction has seen no progress, despite billions spent on seismology.
